Pastor Reuben W. Ford’s Message Regarding Coronavirus, COVID-19
Greetings Parks Chapel Church Family, I pray that this letter finds you all well and taking the necessary steps to keep yourself and your family healthy and safe during this period of coronavirus, COVID-19.
As we are all aware, the global spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19, has caused a public health crisis that has changed the way we lead our daily lives. I ask that you keep abreast of and follow the recommendations and directives of your local and our state elected officials and public health authorities. Please take all necessary health precautions such as washing your hands, staying at home, social distancing and covering your mouth when coughing.
Here at Parks Chapel AME Church, and at churches around the world, this coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic has caused us to consider new ways to approach worship services, including adjustments to longstanding practices and traditions. Current directives prohibit individuals from gathering in groups except as family units within homes. Thus, I am writing to sharing some of the temporary adjustments that have been made so that we can avoid placing your health at risk through the spread of Coronavirus, COVID-19.
Until further notice, 8:00 a.m. worship services, Church School, bible studies, meetings, and choir practices will not be held at Parks Chapel. Beginning March 29, 2020, a single Sunday worship service will be live-streamed at 10:30 a.m. and recorded for future viewing. You can see the service live on your computer, cellphone, tablet or other technology of your choosing at our main website: www.parkschapelsfv.org/LIVE . You can also see prior services and read spiritual lessons/conversations posted. Additionally, you can send questions and comments to me and any member of our ministerial staff.
Although on a more limited schedule, our church office and phones are being staffed to ensure that we remain in communication with you and responsive to the administrative affairs of the church. Please feel free to leave a message if no one can take your call. We are picking up messages daily and processing mail as needed. If you have questions, need any services or assistance, or if you need to talk to me, please reach out.
As with the adjustments above, we have made provisions for you to continue to bless God’s work through your giving to Parks Chapel. There are several options from which to choose. You can place your tithes and offerings in an envelope that can be mailed to or dropped off at the church in the office or the mail slot on Maclay Street. We are pleased also to announce that you can give online at www.parkschapelsfv.org/giving/ . Online giving is simple and secure.
Family, We must remain prayed up and not afraid. the Coronavirus is on the move and it is real, but we are God’s people and we must believe He will see us through this crisis. Finally, your insights and ideas are especially helpful to us during this time of adjustment to unprecedented circumstances. Please feel free to call me at the church office, send me a letter or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
To God be the Glory!
